DAY ONE

Confirmed Platforms

Confirmed

PlayStation 5

Launches day one, plus a reported PS5 Pro enhanced mode with higher frame rates and PSSR 2.0. Full detail on the GTA 6 PS5 guide.

Confirmed

Xbox Series X/S

Launches day one on both consoles, with Smart Delivery support. Full detail on the GTA 6 Xbox guide.

PC Status

Not dated. Rockstar has never skipped PC for a mainline GTA, so it's a question of when, not if. Full timeline reasoning on the dedicated PC release date guide.

Switch 2, PS4 & Xbox One

Rockstar has said nothing official about Nintendo Switch 2, and a viral "leak" that circulated turned out to be satire mocking up box art. There are more credible-sounding insider rumors pointing to a possible 2027 port, but nothing confirmed. PS4 and Xbox One are not coming at all — GTA 6 is current-gen only, the first mainline GTA since 2004 you won't be able to play on the previous console generation. See Rockstar's official site for anything the studio confirms directly.

FAQ

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S at launch on November 19, 2026.

Not yet dated. Based on GTA V's 19-month console-to-PC gap and Red Dead Redemption 2's 13-month gap, expect late 2027 to 2028.

Not confirmed. Rockstar has said nothing official; treat any Switch 2 claims as rumor.

No. It's current-gen only — the first mainline GTA since 2004 unavailable on the previous console generation at launch.

Yes. PS5 Pro mode reportedly adds higher frame rates, sharper resolution, and PSSR 2.0 support, though some of this comes from retailer leaks rather than Rockstar directly.
